Up on the roof, Bayswater
This split level roof garden sits on the 5th and 6th floors of a stately Victorian terrace in Bayswater. It was designed to complement an arrangement of new roof lights through which views of the planting can be seen from the interiors. Over the master bedroom a winter flowering cherry, with its pendulous clusters of white blossom, casts pretty shadows into the room, whilst on the lower terrace black stemmed bamboo provides strong vertical accent. The terraces are edged with a matrix of wind resistant grasses and perennials - a changing naturalistic planting palette for year-round interest.
