karena’s Garden

I live in a house that is part of a Georgian terrace with narrow and steeply sloping gardens overlooking the city of Bristol. In my small garden, arranged on three levels, I have used predominantly plants with vertical accent – tall grasses, birch trees and wall-trained purple hazel – to visually connect house and garden and create drama in the narrow beds. At the lowest level a decked terrace constructed around existing black bamboos is backed by a wall of mirror to enlarge the space and to introduce reflected light.
